5 April 2008: RBLS Solo and Mini Band contest - Trophy Laden Start to Season for Tweedvale Pipe Band!!
Tweedvale Pipe Band made an early but highly successful start
to the 2008 pipe band contest season last Saturday 5 April. Playing under the Innerleithen Pipe Band name and taking advantage
of that band’s roots as a Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS) band, the band travelled to Lasswade High School to take
part in the 32nd Annual RBLS Mini-band contest. For more details, click here.
19 April 2008 - RSPBA Lothian & Borders Branch Mini-Bands Tweedvale
Pipe Band played in their second mini-band contest of the month last Saturday 19 April, at the annual RSPBA Lothian &
Borders Branch Solos and Mini-Band contest held in Peebles High School. Tweedvale entered two mini-bands in both the Grade
3 and Grade 2 contests, but sucess was not to follow on as it did at Lasswade. For more details, click here.
10 May 2008 - Dunbar Contest
- A promising start to the Season Tweedvale Pipe Band travelled to Dunbar last Saturday 10 May to take part in the twenty sixth annual pipe band contest
at Winterfield Park, traditionally the first outdoor pipe band contest of the new season in the Lothian and Borders area.
The event enjoyed ideal weather for a pipe band contest – dry, warm and sunny - which made setting up a sound easier

24 May 2008 - Scottish Pipe Band Championships - A Disappointing Result for Tweedvale Pipe Band
Tweedvale Pipe Band travelled to Dumbarton on Saturday 24 May to take part in the 100 Pipers Scottish Pipe Band Championships
at Levengrove Park, the first major championship of the season. The event enjoyed kind weather for a pipe band contest, bu

14 June 2008 - Innerleithen Contest - Double Third Places at Innerleithen for Tweedvale Pipe
Band!!
Tweedvale Pipe Band lifted its first silverware of the outdoor contest season last Saturday 14 June when, whilst participating
at the 7th Innerleithen Pipe Band Championships in Victoria Park, the band took two third places, winning the Dot Rendle Memorial
Trophy at Grade 3 level and the Bydand Cup at Grade 2 level. For more details, click here.
9 August 2008 - North Berwick contest - Grade 2 Success for
Tweedvale Pipe Band Tweedvale Pipe Band resumed their competition season last
Saturday at the Royal Burgh of North Berwick Highland Games and made a little bit of band history. For the first time ever
Tweedvale took a prize in an open Grade 2 contest by beating an established Grade 2 band when they lifted the John Anderson
Butcher's Trophy for 3rd place, behind Grade 2 winners Torphicen and Bathgate pipe band. Click here to read more.
16 August 2008 - Disappointment at World Championships for Tweedvale Pipe Band
Tweedvale Pipe Band travelled west on Saturday 16 August to perform at the World Pipe Band Championships held on Glasgow
Green. The band put in what they thought was a good performance of their March Strathspey and Reel set, but it didn't catch
the ear of the judges and the end result was disappointing. For more details, click here.

August 2008 - Fifth Place at the Double for Tweedvale Pipe Band at Melrose.
Tweedvale Pipe
Band travel to Melrose to participate in the 13th Melrose Pipe Band Championships held in the grounds of St Mary’s School.
Unlike last year’s event when the weather was bad and half the entered bands withdrew before competing, this year’s

30 August 2008 - Final Major Championships of Year for Tweedvale Pipe
Band.
Tweedvale Pipe Band travelled west
before the crack of dawn last Saturday 30 August to participate in the last major pipe band championships of the year at the
Cowal Highland Gathering, the self-styled “biggest highland games in the world”. An even earlier departure time
than last year was necessary due to the band playing at 9.45am, thus making an early ferry a necessity to allow the band enough

September 2008 - Trio of Prizes at Peebles Contest for Tweedvale Pipe Band!! Tweedvale Pipe
Band’s contest season was brought to a close with a rendition of “Scotland the Brave” and “On St Ronan’s”
as the band paraded along Peebles High Street at the end of the Peebles Highland Games, held in Victoria Park last Sunday.
On one of the few dry days of late, Tweedvale took part in the Grade 3 contest playing their current medley selection for
what is likely to be the final time. The band enjoyed a good run and put in a very musical performance of their set. For more
